Midday Moers: Praxis Precision Medicines, DigitalBridge, Parsons, Argan, Warner Bros.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heading into midday, stocks have paled back from the morning's excitements, including the first rise in the UM Consumer Sentiment Index since July. There was also promising, albeit overdue data, in the form of September [PCE](https://www.thestreet.com/dictionary/p/personal-consumption-expenditures-index-pce) and Income/Spending.
While the talk of the town today has been the **Warner Bros. Discovery** (+3%) and **Netflix** (-3%) tie-up, there's a whole universe of stories out there. Here are today's midday movers, the top and bottom 20 stocks with at least a $2 billion [market cap](https://www.thestreet.com/dictionary/m/market-capitalization-market-cap):
### Movers
At the top of the movers list, **Praxis Precision Medicines** (+34%) is jumping to a 52-week high after announcing positive results from a phase three study of relutrigine for SCN8A Development and Epileptic Encephalopathies. The results were actually so strong that the study was stopped early for "efficacy."
Not far behind, digital infrastructure investment **DigitalBridge Group** (+30.6%) is jumping on news that it will be acquired by **SoftBank**. The Japanese multinational already has taken a vested interest in investments in this vein, making it an interesting fit.
Rounding out the list is **Rubrik** (+22.4%), which saw its revenues urge 48% year-over-year in its Q3 earnings, handily surpassing expectations.
Here's the full list of winners:

### Losers
On the other end of the market, **Parsons Corp** (-25.1%) is declining after losing the Federal Aviation Administration's new multibillion-dollar air traffic control modernization contract, which was awarded to Peraton.
Following that, energy construction company **Argan** (-12.9%) is declining after reporting its earnings. It's joined by **SentinelOne** (-10.1%), which issued a disappointing forecast and will see the departure of its current CFO.

Data Drive: UM Sentiment Arrives, Along With Overdue September Data
-------------------------------------------------------------------
We're getting most of today's big economic news all at once. Thankfully, it's mostly good news.
The preliminary UM Consumer Sentiment data for December is out just now, jumping to 53.3 (from an anemic 51 in the last report). The consensus as a 52, making this a small beat.
It's the index's first rise in five months. It also came with another sweetener: a decline in current and long-term [inflation](https://www.thestreet.com/dictionary/i/inflation) expectations, which were at their lowest in nearly a year, at 4.1% and 3.2% respectively.
### Overdue September PCE, Personal Spending/Income Arrives
Speaking of inflation, the Fed's chosen inflation metric -- Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) -- are also out, coming in mostly in line. The **PCE Price Index** rose 0.3% month-over-month to 2.8% year-over-year in September, while the **Core PCE Index** also rose 2.8% year-over-year (better than the +2.9% YoY expected).
In addition, **Personal Income** and **Spending** in September rose 0.4% (vs. +0.4% expected) and 0.3% month-over-month (better than the +0.5% expected).
### Market Reacts
